We have one brave client who is converting their main assisted living lobby into a café, complete with tables and chairs and a refreshments station for residents and families.
And it is located under a beautiful skylight which fills the space with natural light . . . delightful! Yes, there is concern about the lobby appearing messy and loud, BUT we are convinced that it will draw folks in. Perhaps the grandchildren will want to visit more often; perhaps visitors will feel more inclined to linger and chat, extending their visit in a friendly, fun environment.
We have another client that has a café adjacent to the lobby and every morning the men gather for coffee and the news and every afternoon most residents make it for happy hour. They offer free WiFi and the increase in adult children stopping by on the way home from work has greatly improved. (more…)Read More
